Campus Covid-19 Protocol Update

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Removal of the Covid-19 Vaccine Requirement as of May 11, 2023

May 1, the ÌòÒõÉ«ÇéƬEmergency Management Team met and voted to disband, as its official responsibilities per university policy had ended on February 28 with the State decision. On May 3, the Executive Committee voted to recommend to University Council the removal of the Covid vaccine requirement, saliva testing, and surveys, and make the Covid vaccine a recommendation. This motion was passed unanimously.

La Sierra University continues to monitor developments around COVID-19 and adjust our protocols to align with current guidance. With a lowered risk of serious illness— thanks to the effectiveness of vaccines and more widely available medication for COVID-19—widespread restrictions have mostly been lifted around the world and on La Sierra University's campus.

While the vaccine requirement has been lifted, it is important to emphasize that our commitment to the safety and well-being of our community remains unwavering. We strongly recommend that all students, staff, and faculty receive and update their Covid-19 vaccinations, along with seasonal flu vaccines. If some individuals have concerns or questions about this change, please reach out to the provost’s office for any clarification you may need, 951-785-2320.
